Diploma in community learning and development 2010-11

For this programme managers need to offer eight one hour line management sessions. As part of these sessions we suggest you review how your worker is progressing with the Programme.

At the end of each unit they complete you will need to fill in a short report and send it to us. This sets out the hours of practice they have complete - and asks questions about their abilities in a small number of areas.

In addition you need to write a report halfway throught the Programme - and one at the end.

Full details of all of these can be found in the managers' handbook (see below). The brief 'end of unit' forms can also be downloaded below.

Diploma studies for Rank network agencies

Gap programme

Gappers now join a cohort of students according to when they start. The entry points are in September, January and April.

The closing date for September Gappers for entry to the Diploma in youth work/Diploma in informal education programme is October 15, 2010.

New diploma programmes

There are a limited number of sponsered places open to Rank agencies for the new programmes in:

  • Community learning and development. This programme has been designed for people involved in local groups and organizations who want to develop the way they work.

  • Helping, mentoring and community learning. This new programme sets out to meet the needs of young adult carers who want to develop their abilities as helpers and mentors.
Both programmes lead to professional qualification at VRQ level 3 (England and Wales) and Level 6 SCQF (Scotland). They can also lead to a fully recognised Access to Higher Education Diploma.

Please contact your director at Rank - and the College if you have someone who you think might benefit from the programme.

You can download leaflets, factsheets and application forms below.
